Share your knowledge to others when there's stil time :")

 Saturday, 26th October 2013

I never thought that on that day, I could feel an amazing experience ever.
actually, this's not my first time being a volunteer for teaching some children about English.
maybe, the thing that made this feel special was because these children are those who came from the lower economical background family.

ok, let me make this more clear.
I've just got an information about teaching practice that held by "Sanggar Belajar-FKIP Mengajar, BEM FKIP Universitas Sriwijaya". I was interested in reading this information. at first, I didn't have any desire to join this but as I think and think, I knew that I should join this :")

this took for about an hour to go there from Inderalaya. sorry, I haven't told you the name of the village. this village's called as "Seri Banding". it's a kind of a suburb area because people who live here were so left behind from the hectic of a big city. houses here also were organized unwell. people here build their house above the swamp. and I think you can imagined how this could be. there's so much dry mud anywhere. there's no flowing spring there, there's just a kind of lake but it's not too big. and people use the water in the lake for taking bath and etc.

the road also  organized unwell. we need to hold on to the desk of Angkot (the public transportation that we use) for avoiding the tremor. this's caused by the rocks in the ground. when the wheels of Angkot bump the rocks, the tremor will happen.

as far as I saw to the left and to the right of the road, there's only forest.
the distance among one village and others a bit far. so people here need to use a transportation to reach every village.

it took an hour, right. and when we arrived inSeri Banding, I never thought that the children there will welcome us by screaming
 "yeeeeeeeeey, ayuknyo lah dateng"
which means
"yeaaaaaaay, our teachers just have arrived!".

the building that be the class for us to teach was just a mosque.
I haven't arrived yet when I saw the children were sitting in front of the mosque.
deep inside my heart I said," Oh God, thanks for giving me a better life. wishing for a better life too for them. amin".

as soon as possible, I went to meet those children then.
at first, I felt just like a weirdo.
children here weren't shy to meet me. they directly ask me about the things inside my paper bag.
" ayuk, kamu itu bawak ape?". means: " sister, what's inside your bag?"
I just ignored them. then, they asked me again, I still ignored them. then, they asked me again --" and I answered them by saying "Ok, kalau mau tau apa yang saya bawa, duduk yang manis ya" means: "if you wanna know what'sinside my bag, sit at your place please and I share them my sweetest smile :")".

they're naughty.
they walked arround during the lesson,
talked to their friend when I was explaining the material.

I taught them about English especially, Alphabet, number and parts of body.
actually, children here got some knowledge from their elementary schol, but it's not good enough to support them. they need extra lesson especially English. when I asked them about the Aplhabet (A-Z) and number (1-20) in English, many of them stil didn't know about it.

I was with them for about an hour and half. it felt so quick.
but at least I've taught them about Aplphabet, number and parts of body.
children here were 5 graders student of elementary school. they're small not too tall hehehe. basicly, many of them looked so hard adsorbing the knowledge that I shared so I used a game in helping them. we played "Simon Says" game. and thanks God, they got what I want. they're able to learn Alphabet, number and parts of body.

I took several photo with them during and after the class.

sorry if my pose disturbs your eyes :")
thanks for reading.

I almost forget to say something:

"Please reload this page and read this story again ehehehehe"

"Share your knowledge to others when there's stil time :")"

see what I'm doing. the smallest white board I ever use :")
